Soccer Shoes and Cleats

The footwear for playing soccer is usually referred to as cleats, but when talking about indoor soccer, the word ''shoes'' can be used. In general, the most significant difference between cleats and shoes is that cleats come with spikes.

Shoes for indoor soccer usually come with non-marking rubber sole, due to which they can withstand even hard use on the floor. Many soccer players call their indoor shoes ''flats'', and their outdoor soccer shoes – ''cleats''. Indoor soccer shoes also work for playing on dry surfaces outdoors.

When looking for soccer shoes or cleats, it's important to check them for a proper fit. It's a good idea to take your soccer socks with you in order to choose the correct size. When choosing leather shoes, keep in mind that they will stretch to some extent. Once you bought the appropriate pair, wear them at home for several days before wearing them for a game.
